LISA PALMER

owner | principal designer

Founded in 2003, SummerHouse was the inception of Lisa Palmer's necessity for clean, unfussy furniture pieces for her interior design projects.  Seeking out lines that could become exclusive to her and that would be unique to the area, Lisa brought in an unexpected mix of glazed finishes from Oly Studio's line to Mitchell Gold's mid century modern collection and fused them to create a sophisticated brand of design not seen in the Jackson area at the time.

Lisa Palmer knows first hand the meaning of resiliency. In 2005, a fire destroyed the original historic Fondren location. Remaining strong,  she reopened the business and designed the new, much larger space with one thing in mind. She never wanted her clients to feel like mice in a maze - designing the new space with a light, open airy feel, unlike other furniture stores she had been in. "I wanted my clientele to be able to see from one end to the other - and in as much natural light as possible."  Lisa added new exclusive lines to the larger space such as Lee Industries, Hickory Chair, Clubcu, Noir Furniture and Tara Shaw, among others.

Lisa's eye for proportion, symmetry, line and detail, as well as a keen sense of what it means to be at home in comfortable yet beautiful environments can be seen on her showroom floor as well as her online storefront.  Her team of buyers and talented staff of interior designers learn first hand the importance of good design and superior quality that are the hallmark of the SummerHouse aesthetic.
